Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA)

This is an experience of learning and discernment for those who wish to know more about their Catholic faith, and for non-catholics and non-baptized adults who might be interested in joining the Catholic Church. If you, or someone you know is interested, we invite them to join us on September 18th at 7:00pm at the rectory/administration building. For more information, call the parish office at 630-897-1029.

Young at Hearts

Very Important Meeting - Our first general meeting will be in Holy Family Hall on Tuesday, Sept. 9th after the 8:30am Mass. A catered breakfast will be served after the Mass. The cost is $5.00 per person. Since attendance has slipped at past events, we will decide whether we will continue as a group. Anyone over 55 is invited to attend. We will also discuss possible future activities. A sign-up sheet will be in the Narthex.

Centennial History Books

The last history of the Rockford Diocese was written by the later Father Robert Miller and was published in 1976. This new 368 page book features never-before published photographs from diocesan archives and from diocesan parishes that have been gathered over the past two an one half years by the office of Research and Planning. The diocesan history is a hard-bound, full color book whose elegant black cover features a rare photo of the stained-glass windows in the private chapel of the residence of the Rockford Diocese’s first bishop, Peter J. Muldoon. The book is emblazoned with the centennial motto from the Gospel of Matthew 28:20; “And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.”  The cost is $25.00 per copy. They are very nice and would make Christmas presents for family and friends. They will be available after weekend Masses or at the parish office.

New Parishioners

When you receive your temporary packet of envelopes, please remember to put your name and address on them until your personalized ones arrive so that we may give you credit for your contributions.

Recycle Bin

Thank you to all who are bringing their paper for recycling. The money that we received from this project is donated to the Interfaith Food Pantry each month. There is one thing that we ask, please when the bins are full, do not put the paper outside along the container. Many times we have had to go through the neighbors’ yard to pick up the paper that was blown away. Thank you for your help in this matter.
