Knights of Columbus

The Knights of Columbus is the world's largest Catholic family fraternal service organization. The Order has been called "the strong right arm of the Church," and has been praised by popes, presidents and other world leaders, for support of the Church, programs of evangelization and Catholic education, civic involvement and aid to those in need.

The Monsignor Edward S. Wright Council #15119 was founded on July 31, 2010 through the efforts of the Garry Daly and Bill Laudando the District Deputy and the 31 charter members. It is named after Monsignor Edward S. Wright who was the first pastor and founder of Blessed Sacrament Parish.

The Monsignor Edward S. Wright Council works closely with Blessed Sacrament, providing funds for various projects including to the Pancake Breakfast and Tootsie Roll Banks. Members, being active participants in their parish, provide mutual aid and assistance to sick, disabled and needy members and their families. Social and intellectual fellowship is promoted among members and their families through educational, charitable, religious, social welfare, war relief and public relief works.

All the good works we do are informed by our four core principles: Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism.

Membership in the Knights of Columbus is open to men 18 years of age or older who are practicing Catholics in union with the Holy See. This means that an applicant or member accepts the teaching authority of the Catholic church and is in good standing with the Catholic Church.  Members, being active participants in their parish, provide mutual aid and assistance to sick, disabled and needy members and their families. Social and intellectual fellowship is promoted among members and their families through educational, charitable, religious, social welfare, war relief and public relief works.  All the good works we do are informed by our four core principles: Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism.

The council meets the Fourth Tuesday of the month at Blessed Sacrament, In Holy Family Hall located at 801 W. Oak Street in North Aurora. The meeting begins promptly at 7:00 p.m. with a light dinner followed by a decade of the Rosary.
